We prefer to sell advertising that is directed at our readers. If you

find the magazine predominantly through search engines. They are looking for
magazine content associated with the products, services, and wireless products
they use. Consider the value that directed advertising has over purchasing
banner real estate just anywhere. Our readers come back to the magazine to talk
about the service and advice they received from advertisers increasing the
value of word-of-mouth advertising.
Our readers come from three major
sources. The second largest group are return readers using their bookmarks. The
third major source are click throughs from commercial sites that sell radio
equipment. Reciprocal links pay off! We are now linked from several Internet
retailers. The largest source of readers visit GMRS Web for product information
but they also come back to learn more about what they purchased. Numerous
places on the web and even the finer print magazines, like Popular
Communications, refer readers to Popular Wireless Magazines.

Finding a link in a long list is a lot harder than clicking through from a
banner advertisement.
Popular Wireless Magazines can offer
banner ad space for standard 468 x 60 pixel banners with a click through to the
page at your site that you specify. Smaller buttons and banners are also
available. If you would like to integrate an advertisement in a certain way ask
us. We will do our best to accommodate the advertisers that support the
Magazines.
We suggest you serve the banners and
buttons from YOUR website/server so that you can track impressions AND make any
changes to the banners and buttons as you see fit. By serving the banner
yourself YOU control which banners display and when they display.
Our banner ad prices are based on a
monthly rate and vary in amount depending on the page you place the ad. You may
make a commitment to place banners for any number of months from our three
month minimum. When you commit to six months you automatically receive a single
page advertisement in our Featured Radio Shop section. The firm with an ad on a
specific page has the right to renew that space agreement first. If within ten
working days of the end of the period the ad is not renewed another sponsor may
request that space
Our rates are very low compared to
print magazines. The medium is different and requires a different price model.
We want your business to develop confidence in our business. The assumption is,
this magazine attracts readers interested in GMRS, FRS, CB, Amateur Radio and
other personal communication/wireless options like cellular, PCS, paging, and
hobby communication. These readers want to buy your products. They do their
research here and then buy from you.
When you place a banner ad on a page at
GMRS web you get the banner space AND the button space next to it. We call this
PREMIER PAGE TOP ADVERTISING. The banner space above the page is also
available. We call it ABOVE PAGE TOP. When you don't provide us with a
button we insert the Personal Wireless Bulletin Board button. Think about how
you want your page top advertising to appear.
We invoice quarterly and expect Net 30.
GMRS Web reserves the right to refuse service to anyone without explanation.
Banner ads should be related in some way to the two-way radio, wireless
products, or the personal communications industry. (Cellular included) No adult
oriented ads or ads encouraging illegal activity are permitted (including ads
for export CB radios that are really intended to promote the illegal CB radio
market in this country.) Communications companies that specialize in selling
illegal radio equipment in U.S. markets or in making illegal radio transmitter
modifications should look elsewhere. Advertiser furnishes the banner. Banner
creation rates are $60/hour firm. There is no minimum,
but if you like to revise art over and over, you will run up a lager bill. Be
very sure of what you want and how you want it to look and submit a detailed
specification of work. Some simple text buttons and text banners can be done in
thirty minutes or less.

Wireless Forums are where our community of readers gather. Advertisers are very
likely to make an impression on a potential customer by placing a banner within
a forum. You can see which forums are the most popular by checking the number
of posted messages in each forum.
Banners for the Web Forums should be
standard 468 x 60 pixel page banners. Consider serving these banners from your
website so you can track impressions. Send us the URL of your banner image and
the name of the forum in which you want your banner to appear.

sheet or advertising hype. We want real content. Discuss it with us prior to

At least one manufacturer participates
regularly in the magazine forums. One of their folks acts as a forum moderator.
The magazine would enjoy having other advertisers participate in the same way.
